What is the most important role of the County Auditor?

"The most important role of the County Auditor is to make sure the value of all the property in the county is correct so that everyone is paying their fair share of property taxes."

Who is Grant Daugherty?

I am a lifelong Republican who has served my community for many years as a former County Commissioner, Fiscal Officer and Administrator. I have been involved with farming my whole life growing up on a dairy farm where my parents taught me the value of hard work and responsibility.

Why did you decide to run at this time?

"After careful assessment of the current environment in the county and after many conversations with constituents, I concluded, it was time for a change in leadership in the Auditor's Office. The office needs to offer a friendlier environment to the public, to business and to professionals in our county. I will bring a conservative service oriented, common sense approach to the office to better serve all the residents in the county."

What qualifies you for the job of County Auditor?

✔️ "I served 8 years as Coshocton County Commissioner where I was instrumental in completing many successful projects. I have a history of working across the community for growth and success."

✔️ "I served 15 years as Township Fiscal Officer for Millcreek Township, where I acted as Treasurer/Secretary accountable for all funds and budgets, accounts payable, payroll, record keeping and inventory. I successfully passed all the State of Ohio audits."

What can you tell us about your family background?

I was born and raised in Coshocton County. I am the sixth generation to farm my family's land by raising row crops, hay and livestock. My family has served the community for over 100 years. My great-grandfather was on the County Fair Board. My grandfather was on the local School Board and my father was on the Soil and Water Conservation District Board. My son, Grant K. Daugherty III, is currently serving his 16th year in the US Air Force, stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota, with his wife and four children. I live on my family farm in Millcreek Township with my wife Denise. My roots run deep in the county that I have had the honor to serve for many years.
